Since Ghana gained independence from colonial rule in 1957, under the leadership and vision of Osagyefo Kwame Nkrumah, it has remained uniquely poised at the vanguard of the liberation efforts in the global Pan African movement. In true form, Ghana’s most recent efforts to welcome Diasporan Africansn back to the continent through the Year of Return has manifested in the form of historical collaborations, thousands of Diasporans returning to Ghana, and other spiritually significant shifts in the global landscape.
